My story begins in April of 2017 – I received a scary health report from my doctor regarding my liver. She told me that I need to start taking care of ME. I have always exercised and was faithful to go to the gym but I needed to do more. I started eating healthier, exercising more & following a structured weight loss program. Well, April 2018 I took the picture that is shown. What a difference! I had lost 50 pounds. After a follow-up meeting with my doctor, my blood & liver numbers were ALL normal, and she even took me off one of my medications. Praise the Lord! She challenged me to step up my exercise level and try adding in water aerobics, for starters. I did - but it wasn’t until I saw my friend, Janet, and heard about bootcamp and how it really helped her weight loss journey that I decided to give it a try. I signed up for an 8-week Mid-Day Bootcamp with Dione Bowlding in June 2019. Talk about taking exercise to another level. I first heard the word ‘bootcamp’ and I have to say was a little afraid of what that all entailed. I did not know what to expect but I was up for the challenge. Well, here it is November & I am just finishing up my 3rd session – yes you heard me right – my 3rd session. I love it. I receive a challenging workout every Monday & Wednesday afternoon alongside Chelsea. I think that is what has been missing all the times I would go to the gym by myself - working out with others. I enjoy having a personal trainer that pushes and challenges us every step of the way. Dione knows where I have some injury challenges – whether it is my knee or shoulder – but he makes the necessary adjustments to help me reach my goals. I am looking forward to starting back up for my 4th session in December 2019.
